LOW TESTOSTERONE

What is Testosterone?

Testosterone is a crucial hormone for men and plays an important role throughout the male lifespan. Most of a male’s testosterone is produced through the testicles. Also called the male sex hormone, testosterone starts playing its part during puberty.

When a male goes through puberty, testosterone helps males develop:

✔ Facial Hair  ✔ Body Hair  ✔ Deeper Voice
✔ Muscle Strength  ✔ Increased Libido  ✔ Muscle Density

As boys turn to men and men grow older, testosterone levels deplete naturally. Sometimes, events like injuries and chronic health conditions like diabetes can lower testosterone levels. Unfortunately, when a man loses too much T, it results in hypogonadism. When this happens, the testosterone must be replaced, or the male will suffer from symptoms like muscle loss, low libido, and even depression.

What Causes Low T?

For men, aging is the biggest contributor to lower testosterone levels, though there are other causes like obesity, drug abuse, testicular injuries, and certain prescribed medications. Sometimes, long-term health conditions like AIDS, cirrhosis of the liver, and kidney disease can lower testosterone levels.

When a man’s testosterone levels drop significantly, it alters his body’s ratio of estrogen and testosterone. Lower testosterone levels cause more abdominal fat, which in turn results in increased aromatase, which converts even more testosterone into estrogen.

If you’re concerned that you might have low T, you’re not alone. Millions of men in the U.S. feel the same way. The best way to find out if your testosterone is low is to get your levels tested.

For sustainable testosterone replacement therapy benefits, you must consult with hormone doctors and experts like those you can find at Global Life Rejuvenation. That way, you can find the root cause of your hormone problems, and our team can craft a personalized HRT plan tailored to your needs.

Common Symptoms of Low Testosterone

TRT SYMPTOM 1

Low Sex Drive

One of the most common reasons that men choose TRT is because they have lost that “spark” with their partner. It’s not easy for a man to hear that they’re not performing like they used to. Intimacy is a powerful part of any relationship. When a once-healthy sex life dwindles, it can cause serious relationship issues.

The good news is that low libido doesn’t have to be a permanent problem. TRT and anti-aging medicines help revert hormone levels back into their normal range. When this happens, many men have a more enjoyable life full of intimacy and sex drive.

TRT SYMPTOM

Inability to Achieve and Maintain an Erection

Weak erections – it’s an uncomfortable subject for many men in the U.S. to talk about. It’s even worse to experience first-hand. You’re in the midst of an intimate moment, and you can’t do your part. Despite being perfectly normal, many men put blame and shame upon themselves when they can’t achieve an erection. And while the inability to perform sexually can be caused by poor diet, obesity, and chronic health conditions, low testosterone is often a contributing factor.

Fortunately, weak erections are a treatable condition. The best way to regain your confidence and ability in bed is to speak with your doctor. Once any underlying conditions are discovered, options like TRT may be the best course of treatment.

TRT SYMPTOM 2

Loss of Strength and Muscle Mass

Do you find it harder and harder to work out and lift weights in the gym? Are you having problems lifting heavy items that you once had no problem lifting?

Recent studies show that when men are inactive, they lose .5% of muscle strength every year, from ages 25 to 60. After 60, muscle loss doubles every decade. While some muscle loss is common as men age, a significant portion can be tied to low testosterone levels. When a man’s T levels drop, so does his muscle mass.

Testosterone is a much-needed component used in gaining and retaining muscle mass. That’s why many doctors prescribe TRT for men having problems with strength. One recent study found that men who increased their testosterone levels using TRT gained as much as 2.5 pounds of muscle mass.

Whether your gym performance is lacking, or you can’t lift heavy items like you used to, don’t blame it all on age. You could be suffering from hypogonadism.

TRT SYMPTOM 3

Hair Loss

If you’re like millions of other men in their late 20s and 30s, dealing with hair loss is a reality you don’t want to face. Closely related to testosterone decline and hormone imbalances, hair loss is distressing for many men. This common symptom is often related to a derivative of testosterone called DHT. Excess amounts of DHT cause hair follicles to halt their production, causing follicles to die.

Because hair located at the front and crown is more sensitive to DHT, it grows slower than other follicles and eventually stops growing permanently. Thankfully, TRT and anti-aging treatments for men is now available to address hair loss for good.

While it’s true that you can’t change your genes, you can change the effects of low testosterone on your body. Whether you’re suffering from thinning hair or hair loss across your entire head, TRT and other hormone therapies can stop hair loss and even reverse the process.

TRT SYMPTOM 4

Gynecomastia

Also called “man boobs,” gynecomastia is essentially the enlargement of male breast tissue. This increase in fatty tissue is often caused by hormonal imbalances and an increase in estrogen. For men, estrogen levels are elevated during andropause. Also called male menopause, andropause usually happens because of a lack of testosterone.

If you’re a man between the ages of 40 and 55, and you’re embarrassed by having large breasts, don’t lose hope. TRT is a safe, effective way to eliminate the underlying cause of gynecomastia without invasive surgery. With a custom HRT and fitness program, you can bring your testosterone and estrogen levels back to normal before you know it.

TRT SYMPTOM 5

Decreased Energy

Decreased energy was once considered a normal part of aging. Today, many doctors know better. Advances in technology and our understanding of testosterone show that low T and lack of energy often go hand-in-hand.

If you’re struggling to enjoy activities like playing with your kids or hiking in a park due to lack of energy, it could be a sign of low T. Of course, getting tired is perfectly normal for any man. But if you’re suffering from continual fatigue, a lack of enjoyment, or a decrease in energy, it might be time to speak with a doctor.

Whether you’re having a tough time getting through your day or can’t finish activities you used to love, TRT could help.

TRT SYMPTOM 6

Depression

You’re feeling down about everything, and there’s no solid explanation for why you’re in such a crummy mood. Your daily life is great and full of success, but you can’t help but feel unexcited and unmotivated. If you’re experiencing symptoms like these, you may be depressed – and it may stem from low testosterone.

A research study from Munich found that men with depression also commonly had low testosterone levels. This same study also found that depressed men had cortisol levels that were 67% higher than other men. Because higher cortisol levels lead to lower levels of testosterone, the chances of severe depression increase.

Depression is a very real disorder and should always be diagnosed and treated by your doctor. One treatment option gaining in popularity is TRT for depression. Studies show that when TRT is used to restore hormone levels, men enjoy a lighter, more improved mood. That’s great news for men who are depressed and have not had success with other treatments like anti-depression medicines, which alter the brain’s chemistry.

TRT SYMPTOM 7

Lack of Sleep

A study from 2011 showed that men who lose a week’s worth of sleep can experience lowered testosterone levels – as much as 15%, according to experts. Additional research into the topic found almost 15% of workers only get five hours of sleep (or less) per night. These findings suggest that sleep loss negatively impacts T levels and wellbeing.

The bottom line is that men who have trouble sleeping often suffer from lower testosterone levels as a result. If you find yourself exhausted at the end of the day but toss and turn all night long, you might have low T.

TRT and anti-aging medicines can restore your T levels back to normal, which can help you sleep better with proper diet and exercise.

TRT SYMPTOM 8

Inability to Concentrate

Ask anyone over the age of 50 how their memory is, and they’ll tell you it wasn’t what it used to be. Memory loss and lack of concentration occur naturally as we age – these aren’t always signs of dementia or Alzheimer’s.

However, what many men consider a symptom of age may be caused by low testosterone. A 2006 study found that males with low T levels performed poorly on cognitive skill tests. These results suggest that low testosterone may play a part in reducing cognitive ability. If you’re having trouble staying on task or remembering what your schedule is for the day, it might not be due to your age. It might be because your testosterone levels are too low. If you’re having trouble concentrating or remembering daily tasks, it could be time to talk to your doctor.

Why? The aforementioned study found that participating men experienced improved cognitive skills when using TRT.

TRT SYMPTOM 9

Weight Gain

Even though today’s society is more inclusive of large people, few adults enjoy gaining weight as they age. Despite their best efforts, many men just can’t shed the extra pounds around their midsections, increasing their risk of heart disease and cancer.

Often, male weight gain is caused by hormone imbalances that slow the metabolism and cause weight to pile on. This phase of life is called andropause and happens when there is a lack of testosterone in the body. Couple that with high cortisol levels, and you’ve got a recipe for flabby guts and double chins.

Fortunately, TRT treatments and physician-led weight loss programs can correct hormone imbalances and lead to healthy weight loss for men.

Benefits of TRT and Anti-Aging Medicine for Men

The benefits of hormone replacement therapy for men are numerous. TRT not only grants relief from low-T symptoms but can help give protection against age-related diseases. Additionally, doctors now recognize male testosterone as an important role in alleviating depression.

Some of the most exciting benefits of TRT can include:

  • Reduction in Body Fat
  • Increased Strength
  • More Muscle Mass
  • More Energy
  • Lower Risk of Erectile Dysfunction
  • Higher Sperm Production
  • Healthy Reproductive Tissues
  • Lower Risk of Heart Disease and Diabetes
  • Lower Risk of Anxiety
  • Lower Risk of Depression

HORMONE THERAPY

What is HRT?

As women age, their hormones begin to go through changes that affect their day-to-day lives. For women, hormone deficiency and imbalance usually occur during menopause and can cause chronic fatigue, hot flashes, and mood swings, among other issues. Hormone replacement therapy helps correct hormone imbalances in women, helping them feel more vibrant and virile as they age.

Often, HRT treatments give patients enhanced quality of life that they didn’t think was possible – even in their 60’s and beyond.

The benefits for women are numerous and are available today through Global Life Rejuvenation.

What Causes Menopause?

The most common reason for menopause is the natural decline in a female’s reproductive hormones. However, menopause can also result from the following situations:

  • Oophorectomy: This surgery, which removes a woman’s ovaries, causes immediate menopause. Symptoms and signs of menopause in this situation can be severe, as the hormonal changes happen abruptly.
  • Chemotherapy: Cancer treatments like chemotherapy can induce menopause quickly, causing symptoms to appear shortly after or even during treatment.
  • Ovarian Insufficiency: Also called premature ovarian failure, this condition is essentially premature menopause. It happens when a woman’s ovaries quit functioning before the age of 40 and can stem from genetic factors and disease. Only 1% of women suffer from premature menopause, but HRT can help protect the heart, brain, and bones.

Common Symptoms for Women During Menopause

MENOPAUSE SYMPTOM

Depression

If you’re a woman going through menopause and find that you have become increasingly depressed, you’re not alone. It’s estimated that 15% of women experience depression to some degree while going through menopause. What many women don’t know is that depression can start during perimenopause, or the years leading up to menopause.

Depression can be hard to diagnose, especially during perimenopause and menopause. However, if you notice the following signs, it might be time to speak with a physician:

✅ Mood Swings  ✅ Inappropriate Guilt  ✅ Chronic Fatigue  ✅ Too Much or Too Little Sleep
✅ Lack of Interest in Life ✅ Overwhelming Feelings

Remember, if you’re experiencing depression, you’re not weak or broken – you’re going through a very regular emotional experience. The good news is that with proper treatment from your doctor, depression isn’t a death sentence. And with HRT and anti-aging treatment for women, depression could be the catalyst you need to enjoy a new lease on life.

MENOPAUSE SYMPTOM 1

Hot Flashes

Hot flashes – they’re one of the most well-known symptoms of menopause. Hot flashes are intense, sudden feelings of heat across a woman’s upper body. Some last second, while others last minutes, making them incredibly inconvenient and uncomfortable for most women.

Symptoms of hot flashes include:

✅ Sudden, Overwhelming Feeling of Heat ✅ Anxiety ✅ High Heart Rate ✅ Headache
✅ Nausea ✅ Dizziness

Typically, hot flashes are caused by a lack of estrogen. Low estrogen levels negatively affect a woman’s hypothalamus, the part of the brain that controls body temperature and appetite. Low estrogen levels cause the hypothalamus to incorrectly assume the body is too hot, dilating blood vessels to increase blood flow. Luckily, most women don’t have to settle for the uncomfortable feelings that hot flashes cause. HRT treatments for women often stabilize hormones, lessening the effects of hot flashes and menopause in general.

MENOPAUSE SYMPTOM 2

Mood Swings

Mood swings are common occurrences for most people – quick shifts from happy to angry and back again, triggered by a specific event. And while many people experience mood swings, they are particularly common for women going through menopause. That’s because, during menopause, the female’s hormones are often imbalanced. Hormone imbalances and mood swings go hand-in-hand, resulting in frequent mood changes and even symptoms like insomnia.

The rate of production of estrogen, a hormone that fluctuates during menopause, largely determines the rate of production the hormone serotonin, which regulates mood, causing mood swings.

Luckily, HRT and anti-aging treatments for women work wonders for mood swings by regulating hormone levels like estrogen. With normal hormone levels, women around the world are now learning that they don’t have to settle for mood swings during menopause.

MENOPAUSE SYMPTOM 3

Weight Gain

Staying fit and healthy is hard for anyone living in modern America. However, for women with hormone imbalances during perimenopause or menopause, weight gain is even more serious. Luckily, HRT treatments for women coupled with a physician-led diet can help keep weight in check. But which hormones need to be regulated?

  • Estrogen: During menopause, estrogen levels are depleted. As such, the body must search for other sources of estrogen. Because estrogen is stored in fat, your body believes it should increase fat production during menopause. Estrogen also plays a big part in insulin resistance, which can make it even harder to lose weight and keep it off.
  • Progesterone: Progesterone levels are also depleted during menopause. Progesterone depletion causes bloating and water retention, while loss of testosterone limits the body’s ability to burn calories.
  • Ongoing Stress: Stress makes our bodies think that food is hard to come by, putting our bodies in “survival mode”. When this happens, cortisol production is altered. When cortisol timing changes, the energy in the bloodstream is diverted toward making fat. With chronic stress, this process repeatedly happens, causing extensive weight gain during menopause.

MENOPAUSE SYMPTOM 4

Low Libido

Lowered sexual desire – three words most men and women hate to hear. Unfortunately, for many women in perimenopausal and menopausal states, it’s just a reality of life. Thankfully, today, HRT and anti-aging treatments can help women maintain a normal, healthy sex drive. But what causes low libido in women, especially as they get older?

The hormones responsible for low libido in women are progesterone, estrogen, and testosterone.

Progesterone production decreases during perimenopause, causing low sex drive in women. Lower progesterone production can also cause chronic fatigue, weight gain, and other symptoms. On the other hand, lower estrogen levels during menopause lead to vaginal dryness and even vaginal atrophy or loss of muscle tension.

Lastly, testosterone plays a role in lowered libido. And while testosterone is often grouped as a male hormone, it contributes to important health and regulatory functionality in women. A woman’s testosterone serves to heighten sexual responses and enhances orgasms. When the ovaries are unable to produce sufficient levels of testosterone, it often results in a lowered sex drive.

MENOPAUSE SYMPTOM 5

Vaginal Dryness

Often uncomfortable and even painful, vaginal dryness is a serious problem for sexually active women. However, like hair loss in males, vaginal dryness is very common – almost 50% of women suffer from it during menopause.

Getting older is just a part of life, but that doesn’t mean you have to settle for the side effects. HRT and anti-aging treatments for women correct vaginal dryness by re-balancing estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. When supplemented with diet and healthy living, your vagina’s secretions are normalized, causing discomfort to recede.

MENOPAUSE SYMPTOM 6

Fibroids

Uterine fibroids – they’re perhaps the least-known symptom of menopause and hormone imbalances in women. That’s because these growths on the uterus are often symptom-free. Unfortunately, these growths can be cancerous, presenting a danger for women as they age.

Many women will have fibroids at some point. Because they’re symptomless, they’re usually found during routine doctor exams. Some women only get one or two, while others may have large clusters of fibroids. Because fibroids are usually caused by hormone imbalances, hysterectomies have been used as a solution, forcing women into early menopause.

Advances in HRT and anti-aging medicine for women give females a safer, non-surgical option without having to experience menopause early. At Global Life Rejuvenation, our expert physicians will implement a customized HRT program to stabilize your hormones and reduce the risk of cancerous fibroid growth.

MENOPAUSE SYMPTOM 7

Endometriosis

Endometriosis symptoms are much like the effects of PMS, and include pelvic pain, fatigue, cramping, and bloating. While doctors aren’t entirely sure what causes this painful, uncomfortable condition, most agree that hormones – particularly xenoestrogens – play a factor.

Endometriosis symptoms are much like the effects of PMS and include pelvic pain, fatigue, cramping, and bloating. While doctors aren’t entirely sure what causes this painful, uncomfortable condition, most agree that hormones – particularly xenoestrogens – play a factor.

Xenoestrogen is a hormone that is very similar to estrogen. Too much xenoestrogen is thought to stimulate endometrial tissue growth. HRT for women helps balance these hormones and, when used with a custom nutrition program, can provide relief for women across the U.S.

Benefits of HRT and Anti-Aging Medicine for Women

Hormone imbalance causes a litany of issues. But with anti-aging treatments for women, females can better process calcium, keep their cholesterol levels safe, and maintain a healthy vagina. By replenishing the body’s estrogen supply, HRT can relieve symptoms from menopause and protect against osteoporosis. But that’s just the start.

  • Fewer Mood Swings
  • Thicker Hair
  • Stronger Bones
  • Less Body Fat
  • More Energy
  • More Stamina
  • Increased Sex Drive and Pleasure Sensations
  • Better Cognitive Functions
  • Improved Pain Receptors
  • Less Hot Flashes and Night Sweats
  • Lower Triglycerides
  • Fewer Bladder Infections

Hair Loss Treatment

The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) states the average human can shed between 50-100 single strands of hair per day. Hair shedding is an entirely normal process which allows new hair to grow in. Although in some cases, imbalances within the body can cause hair to excessively fall or or not grow back entirely.

Before we discuss what causes hair loss, we first need to understand how hair grows.

RESEARCH SHOWS THAT HAIR GROWTH OCCURS IN 3 DIFFERENT CYCLES.

  • 1st phase: Anagen Phase – also known as the growing phase – lasts between two to eight years
  • 2nd phase – Catagen Phases – also known as the transition phase – the shrinking period of hair follicles which usually lasts between two to three weeks
  • 3rd phase – Telogen Phase – also known as the resting phase – this phase describes the two to four month period in which hair falls off.

*Keep in mind, shorter hairs such as eyelashes and eyebrows, typically have a shortened anagen phase in comparison to hair typically found on the scalp.

To help complete the cycle, as hair falls out, the anagen phase should start again, but this may not always be the case. This is why hair loss is very common. Hair loss is caused by many different factors.

HAIR LOSS WOMAN 1

HAIR LOSS MAN 1

There are three types of hair loss.

  1. Anagen effluvium – This type of hair loss is caused by medications and is the most rapid type of hair loss. The most common medication for hair loss is chemotherapy. On a positive note, when medication or treatment is completed, hair regrowth is possible.
  2. Telogen effluvium – When too many hair follicles are within the telogen phase an abundant amount of hair tends to fall out simultaneously. Those who experience a sudden emotional or physical shock, extreme stress, hormonal changes, or a serious illness, typically experience this type of hair loss.
  3. Androgenetic alopecia – Those who experience this type of hair loss typically see hair loss at the top and sides of the head. This is the most common type of hair loss for both men and women and is linked to heredity. For example, female hairlines may widen as well as thin in certain areas. On the other hand, males may experience baldness around their temples and crown of the head, creating a “M” shape.
  4. Alopecia areata – This type of hair loss is associated with one’s own body attacking itself. Autoimmune diseases may cause bald patches to develop and may even cause complete hair loss. Those who experience this type of hair loss tend to experience hair loss for their eyebrow and eyelashes.
  5. Tinea capitis – Some fungal infections have a major effect on the scalp and hair shaft. Typically this type of hair loss is commonly experienced with a dry, scaly, and itchy scalp.
  6. Traction alopecia – Tension and pressure caused by certain types of tight hair styles such as braids, ponytails and buns, often cause hair to weaken, thin, and all out.

If you are experiencing hair loss and would like to find holistic and natural treatments for faster regrowth, speak to our specialist to find out which treatment option is best for you.

Denville Medical and Sports Rehabilitation Center offers safe, natural and successful treatment options to regrow hair.

PRP THERAPY

Hair Regrowth Therapy – Hair Regrowth therapy involves drawing your own blood, processing it, then injecting it into the problem area. Within the processing phase, the highest concentration of your body’s nutrient rich plasma is separated from less optimal materials. The nutrient rich concentration is then injected into those areas affected by hair loss and thinning to stimulate hair regrowth and thickness.

MESENCHYMAL CELL THERAPY

Mesenchymal cell therapy – This frontier in aesthetic medicine has helped develop successful methods on a cellular level. These biologic cells help other cells catalyze and become superior in their processes. They have a lipid membrane structure which allows them to link to other cells and in combination, increase protein concentration and microRNAs to super fuel cells.

VITAMIN IV THERAPY

Vitamin IV Therapy – The right mixture and amount of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids can actively help with the regrowth of hair. Vitamin B7, also known as Biotin, Iron, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and Zinc work together intravenously to deliver natural resources powerfully and directly into the bloodstream providing the most optimal results in comparison to the more common and less effective oral delivery.
