A lot of people end up searching for a chiropractor after months of trying to push through the pain. Maybe it started as a stiff neck in the morning and turned into something that follows you through the whole day. Maybe the lower back issue has been going on so long that you have stopped mentioning it to people. Either way, finding the best chiropractic care in Denville, NJ deserves a real conversation, not just a quick search and a shrug.
At Denville Medical, chiropractic treatment is part of a broader, integrated approach to musculoskeletal health. The goal is not just to get you feeling better for a week. It is to figure out what is actually going on with your spine, your joints, and the surrounding muscles, and then address it in a way that holds.

Chiropractic is a profession that focuses on the musculoskeletal and nervous system when delivering a whole-wellness and body approach. Our chiropractor’s main focus is to aid in adjusting the body’s proper structure by removing imbalances and improving nerve function.
Chiropractic care focuses on diagnosing and treating mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, particularly the spine. Chiropractors use hands-on techniques, mainly spinal manipulation and manual therapies, to restore proper alignment, relieve pressure on nerves, and improve how the body moves and functions overall.
Spinal manipulation, also called a chiropractic adjustment or spinal manipulative therapy, is the foundational technique in chiropractic care. The chiropractor applies a controlled force to a targeted joint in the spine or another area of the body. The aim is to restore the normal range of motion, reduce inflammation, relieve pressure on surrounding nerves and soft tissue, and allow the body to move and function as it should.
The speed and precision of the adjustment often catch first-time patients off guard. It takes only seconds. The popping sound that sometimes occurs is gas releasing from the joint space. It is not painful for most people. Chiropractors also use gentler, low-force variations of spinal manipulative therapy for patients who need a less forceful approach, including those recovering from injury or managing more sensitive conditions.
The nervous system runs through and along the spine, so when vertebrae fall out of alignment, it can create problems well beyond the back itself. Patients dealing with neck pain, chronic low back pain, headaches, joint pain, muscle tension, and even numbness in the extremities have found meaningful relief through chiropractic adjustment. It has a strong track record that is well-documented across the healthcare field and is recognized by primary care physicians as a legitimate first-line option for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
Chiropractic therapy is not just for people who threw their back out lifting something heavy. The scope of what a chiropractor can address is broader than most people realize. These are the conditions that tend to respond well:
If you have been relying on pain-relieving drugs longer than feels right, it may be time to look at what is driving the problem rather than just managing the symptoms.
This is the part most people want answered before they even call. Here is how the process actually goes.
Your visit starts with a thorough health history review. The chiropractor will ask about your symptoms, how long they have been present, what makes them better or worse, and any relevant lifestyle factors that could be contributing. That information directly shapes the treatment approach, so the questions matter.
A physical exam follows. This typically includes posture assessment, range of motion testing, and hands-on evaluation of the spine and other joints. Diagnostic imaging may be ordered depending on what the exam turns up, especially for patients with chronic pain or complex spinal presentations.
Once the chiropractor has a complete picture, they will walk you through the findings and outline a care plan. That plan may include spinal manipulative therapy, trigger point therapy, rehabilitative exercises, and guidance around your daily routine and movement habits. For most patients, the first adjustment happens at this visit.
Many patients notice some relief after the first session. Some feel a mild soreness for a day or two, similar to what follows a workout. That is a normal response and typically fades quickly as the body adapts.
Our goal is to work together as a team to get you maximum medical improvement in improving your function. In order to determine which chiropractic technique and treatment are right for you, our chiropractors dedicate the initial evaluation to digging deep into your condition, medical history, previous treatment, diagnostic tests, and, most of all, your goals. This complete initial exam allows our providers to customize a unique treatment plan catered specifically to you and your needs. Take this time to ask any questions you may have, as we want you to have a complete understanding of your treatment plan. Once we agree on your customized therapeutic program, we are ready to take on the next steps.
Our patients typically feel relief during their initial visit. Although a reduction in pain is not an indication that the condition is gone, Relief is the first phase to occur. As the chiropractor adjusts and manipulates your spine and joints, many feel a sense of relief as their joints are realigned and circulation is restored. A number of our patients admit to experiencing an increased range of motion after their first visit, and increased function as they continue their care. The journey towards pain relief is dependent on the severity of the condition and active motivation towards your goals. To learn more about what causes pain, click here.

One of the things that separates chiropractic treatment from a lot of other interventions is its whole-person perspective. A skilled chiropractor is not only focused on the spot that hurts. They are evaluating the body’s alignment, assessing how the joints are moving, considering how the nervous system is functioning, and identifying any lifestyle factors or habits that may be prolonging the problem.
At Denville Medical, chiropractic care runs alongside physical therapy, pain management, and other healthcare providers, all operating under one roof. When a case calls for more than a spinal adjustment, the coordination is already built in. A physical therapist and a chiropractor working from the same clinical picture can move a patient forward more effectively than either one working independently. That is integrative health in a practical sense, providers communicating directly about your case rather than working in separate silos.
Patients visit our location at 161 East Main Street, Route 53, Denville, NJ, from communities across Morris County. Rockaway, Parsippany, Randolph, Mountain Lakes, Boonton, Dover, and Wharton are all areas we regularly serve. If you are managing neck pain, back pain, joint pain, or chronic discomfort that has not improved with other treatments, chiropractic care in Denville is worth a consultation.
For acute injuries, same-day appointments may be available depending on the schedule and the nature of the case. The team accepts most major insurance plans.
How many visits will I need? That depends on your condition, how long it has been present, and how your body responds to treatment. Acute issues can sometimes be resolved in a few visits. Chronic pain conditions typically require a longer course of care, with visit frequency tapering down as progress is made.
Is chiropractic adjustment safe? For most people, yes. Before any treatment begins, your chiropractor will review your health history and conduct a physical exam to determine the safest and most appropriate approach for your specific situation.
Can chiropractic care help if I have already tried physical therapy? Yes, and the two approaches work well together. Chiropractic treatment addresses structural and joint-level dysfunction while physical therapy focuses on strength, stability, and movement patterns. Running them in sequence or in parallel often produces better results than either one alone.
Will I need to keep coming back indefinitely? Not necessarily. The aim at every phase of care is to get you to a point where you can maintain your progress and support your general health on your own. Some patients choose to continue with periodic maintenance visits, but that is a personal decision, not a clinical requirement.
Does insurance cover chiropractic services? Many insurance plans do include chiropractic care, though coverage varies by plan. The team can help clarify what your insurance covers before your first appointment, so there are no surprises.

“Due to the multi-faceted nature of muscular skeletal injuries, it’s rare for a patient to require care from just one specialist. Usually this means many office visits at dispersed locations. A multidisciplinary center differs in that it expedites treatment in an effective and convenient way by bringing a variety of professionals together under one roof. Dr. Spriet has a B.S in Biology from Bloomfield College and is a graduate of New York Chiropractic College in Old Brookville, NY. He has served as an on site chiropractor for several Health and Fitness Clubs and was previously the staff chiropractor for the Mendham Health & Racquet Club where he was also the trainer for the tennis pros at the First Union Tennis Classic.
Dr. Spriet’s specialty is in correcting chronic recurring neck, back, or extremity pain or injuries. This is especially important for those who feel they have “tried everything.” Dr. Spriet has spent many years studying the fields of static (postural) and dynamic (locomotor) problems that affect the human skeletal structure. Quite often, he can find the weak link that has been overlooked. He does this by analyzing the human frame as a whole. Commonly, nutritional deficits or dietary problems, which are impeding the healing process, are addressed. Treatment then involves advanced specific exercises to retrain the entire system to function properly. The patient can then maintain this state with simple home exercises for strength and stability, and these are very portable into a health club.
Dr. Spriet has worked with amateur and professional athletes, as well as anyone wishing lasting correction, to achieve their health care goals. Patients must not be looked at as just a bad back or neck, in isolation from the rest of the body. They are dynamic organisms, with an often complex variety of factors that have led to a breakdown somewhere in the system. To properly analyze these factors and employ a targeted approach at fixing the person, not just the symptom, is the focus of Dr. Spriet’s approach.

*Note: Although you can receive Chiropractic Care solely, our experts found that patients who combine their care with our other services reach maximum medical improvement faster and maintain results longer. Chiropractic care is best coupled with Physical Therapy and Acupuncture, for many conditions. Chiropractors help increase joint mobility and increase nerve function, while Physical Therapists help increase flexibility and lymph flow while building strong muscles to maintain proper structure and Acupuncturists reduce physical and mental stress by stimulating nerve function.
